The Democrats are bragging about the unemployment rate coming down last month, but let’s look at the facts…
In July, there were 155,013,000 in the U.S. civilian labor force. Then in August that number dropped to 154,645,000 meaning that 368,000 people simply dropped out of the labor force last month and did not even bother looking for a job.
There were also 119,000 fewer Americans employed in August than there were in July. At that time, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 142,220,000 Americans actually working. But, in August, that number was down to only 142,101,000 Americans working.
So, despite the fact that there were fewer Americans were employed in August than in July, the unemployment rate dropped down from 8.3% in July to 8.1%. The reason for this lower rate is because so many people dropped out of the labor work force and simply stopped looking for work. The unemployment rate is the percentage of people in the labor force (which means they had a job or were actively looking for a job ) who did not have a job.
Isn’t it time for people (on all sides!) to fact-check what our liars in public office tell us? If you don’t have the brains and common sense to check the facts, you shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
